The Wise Owl Team
Company Director and qualified AAT Andrew Hewson is responsible for business development at Wise Owl and champions the company’s friendly, efficient and professional approach which underpins its ethos. Andrew was an early pioneer of the video games industry and published some of the hits of the 1980s and 1990s. As he says of those years, “It was a rollercoaster ride and I faced fundamentally the same problems and challenges that confront today’s small business owners. There’s not much that happens in a small business which I haven’t dealt with before.”
MAAT qualified Accountant and company Director, Jay Houlihan, is Andrew’s son-in-law. With a background in running a print management business and a PRINCE2 practitioner, Jay joined Wise Owl in 2011. He’s responsible for accounts, tax returns and business and tax advice. Jay understands the pressure on the small business owner, and the requirement to get results fast.
Alex Grillo is a qualified AAT accountant, having been taken on as an apprentice in 2013 in line with Wise Owl’s philosophy of investing in the younger generation and teaching them good practice from day one. Alex has responsibility for maintaining the regular cycle of VAT, Payroll and CIS returns, and drafting, under supervision, accounts and tax returns.
Jack Thompson joined Wise Owl as a new apprentice in 2017 and spends one day a week training on a three-year course at Abingdon and Witney College, frequently scoring 90% his exams. The remainder of his time is spent, learning the nuts and bolts of accountancy in the real world.
Speak to Wise Owl today and let us get it right for you, every time.
